A company’s reputation for integrity is its most valuable asset and is directly related to the conduct of its officers and other employees. Therefore, employees must never use their positions with the company or any of its clients or vendors for private gain, to advance personal interest, or to obtain favors or benefits for themselves, members of their families, or any other individuals, corporations, or business entities. Examples include falsification of time-cards or expense reports/claims, the acceptance of gifts from vendors and much more.
The company adheres to the highest legal and ethical standards applicable in our business. The company’s business is conducted in strict observance of both the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and the integrity of each employee is of the utmost importance.
Employees of the company shall conduct their personal affairs such that their duties and responsibilities to the company are not jeopardized and/or legal questions do not arise with respect to their association or work with the company.
Gifts from vendors
From time-to-time vendors do offer their customers gifts such as tickets to a ball game. If any vendor is to offer you a gift, then you should first explain to them the company policy and have them contact management. Management will then evaluate the extent of the gift and determine whether or not it is appropriate to be accepted, and also which employee(s) should receive it.
Personal use of company computer systems
You are expected to access personal email and social media accounts on your own personal time, outside of work hours and not on company equipment. We understand that in extraordinary circumstances, you may need to use the company computer for personal use. If so, you should limit this as much as possible and aim to keep it to less than 5 minutes at a time and no more than 15 minutes in any given day.
Activities that are strictly prohibited on company computers (at any time and for any duration):
- Playing games
- Gambling
- Watching movies
- Shopping or buying gifts for personal use
- Viewing any adult or pornographic material
- Posting on any social media site, unless work-related
- Browsing job openings or applying for a new job
and similar. If you are not sure about something, then it is best that you err on the side of caution and do not do it. Additionally, if you are not sure then ask before doing it.
See something? Say something!
If you observe someone violating any company policy, then it is your responsibility to bring it to the attention of your supervisor as soon as possible. Not doing so, is itself a violation of the company code of ethics. So, just do the right thing!
